A site responsive intermedia project commisioned for for the Athens Biennial in September 2007. Source material (audio, 35mm archived slides, 16mm film) was distressed, mixed with street detritus, and combined with amplified and projectors (35 slide and 16mm film) while the 'film burn' technique was demonstrated. We were working to a brief of "Destroy Athens" - the theme of the festival.
The audio treatment was devised alongside this strategy, projectors were processed in realtime (resonators and granulation), text to speech cut-ups and prepared themes were mixed in realtime.The mp3s are from rehersal sessions leading up to the final performance. |
